The contract required immediate response to a relief programme, developed to respond to unprecedented flooding of the Somerset levels, as widely publicised in the international news media. Hundreds of homes and many farms in the surrounding villages were overwhelmed with floodwater and overflowing foul water, following a series of heavy storms over a number of weeks.

Teignmouth Fish Quay

TMS were engaged by Interserve to commence works in November 15 to demolish the existing timber fish quay and construct a replacement steel sheet piled marine structure on the popular Back Beach area of Teignmouth, Devon. The location of the site meant that the works took place in very close proximity to residential properties and beach users. Construction methods, working hours and selection of plant was therefore of critical importance so as not to adversely disturb neighbours to the site and affect the peaceful enjoyment of the beach by the local community and tourists

Isle of Man Sea Terminal

Teignmouth Maritime Services were contracted by BAM Nuttall to carry out various scopes of work at the Sea Terminal in Douglas Harbour, Isle of Man. These consisted of scour protection to the two Ro Ro ferry berths, linkspan hoist tower piles life extension (consisting of repair sleeve and denso sea shield), installing a new fender pile and repairs to previously damaged piles; and sea shield work to the three walkway dolphins that are situated within Douglas Harbour.
