Following the failure of a 30m section of riverside railway embankment that closed a Network Rail railway line, TMS were originally brought in to consult on a solution to repairing the railway embankment as quickly as possible.
The banks of the tidal River Mersey in Warrington, showed severe signs of flood damage, causing subsidence at a number of locations along it’s banks.
The contract required immediate response to a relief programme, developed to respond to unprecedented flooding of the Somerset levels, as widely publicised in the international news media. Hundreds of homes and many farms in the surrounding villages were overwhelmed with floodwater and overflowing foul water, following a series of heavy storms over a number of weeks.
The contract required TMS Maritime to repair a bulging, misaligned existing random stone and sheet pile sea wall, which had been breached during heavy storms in early 2014 and was in danger of collapsing.
Salmon’s Brook has been associated in the past with significant flooding both historically and more recently back in October 2000.
In recent years, scour has resulted in the river bank failing, with bank material falling into the river and this therefore required remediation.
As part of Somerset’s flood defences, TMS were called in to replace a failing outfall head wall along the bank of the estuary at Tuckett’s Clyce in Somerset.
Perth & Kinross Council awarded a project to Gael Force Engineering Ltd for the construction of new seasonal water taxi pontoon berths to be located on the River Tay at two separate locations – at Fergusson Gallery in the heart of Perth and also further downstream at Willowgate.
TMS were engaged by Interserve to commence works in November 15 to demolish the existing timber fish quay and construct a replacement steel sheet piled marine structure on the popular Back Beach area of Teignmouth, Devon. The location of the site meant that the works took place in very close proximity to residential properties and beach users. Construction methods, working hours and selection of plant was therefore of critical importance so as not to adversely disturb neighbours to the site and affect the peaceful enjoyment of the beach by the local community and tourists
TMS Director Peter Stenner received a call on New Years Eve 2015, requesting attendance at Teignmouth Sea Front adjacent to the light house and point car park as substantial voids had been found due to extreme weather impact on the sea wall.

TMS were instructed to remove an existing 20m wooden jetty & a 20mx10m concrete slipway at Ghyll Head on Lake Windermere and replace with new.
Teignmouth Maritime Services were contracted by BAM Nuttall to carry out various scopes of work at the Sea Terminal in Douglas Harbour, Isle of Man. These consisted of scour protection to the two Ro Ro ferry berths, linkspan hoist tower piles life extension (consisting of repair sleeve and denso sea shield), installing a new fender pile and repairs to previously damaged piles; and sea shield work to the three walkway dolphins that are situated within Douglas Harbour.
